Hi. My name is Yasmin and I like to write. I like the idea of having a virtual place for me to write about my journey through life. I do this through poetry, spoken word, travel reflection posts and articulated rants.
My love for poetry mainly started as a cultural resistance against suppressive norms and institutions in society. Therefore, I often find myself writing about racial issues and the Black plight. Aside from that, I also write about life in itself and my experience navigating through the world.
Travel has always been a love of mine since I was little. It probably began as a result of moving quite a bit. I lived in Sweden, Ghana, many towns and cities in England and I now reside in the US. Modern day nomad, maybe? I’ve always had a deep appreciation for different environments, cultures and of course food.
My travel posts are a mixture of storytelling, recommendations and my reflection of my time spent in a particular country.
